I have to admit that I did tear up at the end.  You go through the episode with all of these life or death moments that get beaten and just when you think it&#8217;s safe&#8230;.BAM!!  Zapped.  It was sad.  But companions come and go.  That&#8217;s part of the reason Doctor Who has lasted 50 years.  I did like that they filmed in NYC.
